Announcing the Launch of a Comprehensive New Tokyo VR Metaverse Portal Site, Featuring Exciting Cultural, Travel, Sports, and City Life Content!
Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is proud to introduce Virtual Edo-Tokyo – Dig Tokyo, TMG’s official comprehensive portal for exploring the metaverse, bringing together tourism, culture, sports, and other content. Visitors will be able to explore Tokyo's attractions from a variety of perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the city. The site will officially launch on March 29, 2024.
The Virtual Edo-Tokyo Project was implemented earlier this year, using the metaverse to share Tokyo’s many attractions with people in Japan and around the world. This was started as part of TMG’s efforts to promote the creation of sustainable new value through the “Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo = SusHi Tech Tokyo” initiative. Inside, visitors can experience the culture and industry of Edo-Tokyo through a wide range of content including a seafood auction game, 3D exhibition of historic fashion trends, and a stroll around Edo Castle.
