TOKYO ANIME NEXT: Prelude to a New Anime Festival

TOKYO ANIME NEXT, a special event organized by the Association of Japanese Animations and co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, will be held in Ikebukuro from October 30 to November 2, 2026.

The event serves as a prelude to a new international anime festival that will officially launch in 2027. Through screenings, exhibitions, symposiums, workshops, stage programs, and other activities, it will showcase the current state of Japanese animation and explore its future from a variety of perspectives.

The program will feature a wide range of works, from acclaimed titles recognized both in Japan and abroad to the latest productions, allowing visitors to experience the diversity and wide-ranging appeal of Japanese anime.

The event will culminate in a global announcement unveiling the vision for the new international anime festival.
