Enjoy Late-Night Museums with Special Offers This Autumn
The first Autumn Night Museum campaign, held at six metropolitan museums and galleries, will run this November, extending opening hours until 8:00 p.m. every Friday.
The late-hour openings will be available at the following six facilities: Edo-Tokyo Museum (Ryogoku), Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Ueno), Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum (Meguro/Shirokanedai), Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (Ebisu), Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (Kiyosumi-Shirakawa), and Tokyo Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery (Shibuya).
From November 5 through 27, 2026, visitors can enjoy extended opening hours every Friday at all six venues, as well as on Saturday, November 21 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, and every Thursday at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.
For entries after 5:00 p.m., applicable exhibitions are free for high school and university students, while group discounts apply to adults and those over 65. Museum shops, cafes, and restaurants will also be open until 8:00 p.m. on these days, offering discounts and giveaways.
A related free event, “Museum × Music!” mini concerts, will be held in collaboration with the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. A concert will take place at each venue during the campaign period, with no advance registration required. Details are available on the official website.
Additionally, on November 6 and 7, the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum will hold “Special Nighttime Opening: Architectural Illuminations.” Gas lamps, irori hearths, and fireplaces will be lit, allowing visitors to stroll through the museum grounds at night.
Two cultural festivals will also be held from October through December: ARTE TOKYO, the Tokyo International Festival of Arts and Culture (October 10–December 31) and TOKYO ATLAS, the waterfront international art exhibition featuring prominent international artists and emerging creators (October 10-December 20).
