PR Event for ‘TOKYO GX ACTION’ × Formula E Tokyo Race Held
On April 14, Governor Koike attended a “PR Event for “‘TOKYO GX ACTION’ × Formula E Tokyo Race” held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku Ward. Racing driver Noda Juju, and Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E Operations, also attended the event.
The governor said, “Formula E Tokyo is the first race in Japan for electric vehicles to compete on public roads. This year’s event, which is to be held for the third time in Japan, will take place on July 25 and 26 as Tokyo’s first-ever night race. In conjunction with the event, Tokyo will organize, at Tokyo Big Sight, the ‘TOKYO GX ACTION MUSEUM,’ as well as an experiential event in collaboration between ‘TOKYO GX ACTION’ and Formula E. We will also hold public viewings of the Formula E race.
“Through these events, I hope people will deepen the understanding of EVs and GX (Green Transformation), which contribute to realizing a sustainable society. And I hope people will look forward to enjoying a fierce race on a midsummer night,” she said.
