SusHi Tech Square to open, starting its first phase exhibition soon, presenting innovative solutions for modern urban challenges

 

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is proud to announce the initial opening of “SusHi Tech Square” on August 30. The “SusHi Tech Tokyo”, or “Sustainable High City Tech Tokyo” concept is being promoted by TMG to produce “sustainable new value” in the city through cutting-edge technology, di-verse ideas, and digital know-how. The first phase of the exhibition, which will be on the first floor, will include interactive media and other creative content. Additional floors will be opening later. Please see below for details.

SusHi Tech Square(3-8-3 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, the former Tokyo Sports Square)

1st Floor opening - Wednesday, August 30, 2023
2nd and 3rd Floor opening – During the autumn (planned)

Outline:

The facility will be used as a space to communicate and implement new ideas in an integrated manner to promote SusHi Tech Tokyo

1st floor “Space”
  • This will offer an area for free activity with rich creative content such as the “Real World Only” space for experiential media art.
  • It will feature exhibits on the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games
  • Hands-on exhibits introducing the rich natural environment and wildlife of Tokyo will also be included
  • A plaza surrounded by the above exhibits will serve as a unique venue for workshops, lectures, project pitches, etc.
2nd and 3rd floor “Tokyo Innovation Base”
  • This will be a base for startups and other diverse groups to interact and innovate through exchange and implementation.

Individuals with reservations will have priority (same-day reservations are available); groups must have reservations
*Reservation procedures will be announced at a later date

About the Experiential Media Art Exhibition

Themes will be set and exhibited during set time periods

Tokyo 2020 Games Legacy Exhibition and Competition Experience

Includes exhibits that will allow visitors to experience the legacy of each stage of the Tokyo 2020 Games, from the bidding process to the preparations for hosting, the opening and closing ceremonies, and the sports competitions themselves. The exhibit will also include a hands-on photo spot, and an Olympic and Paralympic Games experience corner that will use digital technology to allow visitors of all ages to enjoy the events.

Understanding Tokyo’s Nature and Wildlife – an Exhibition of Hands-on Experiential Content

The exhibition will feature interactive digital content such as a video shot with a 360° underwater camera all along the Tama River, showing the diversity of nature in Tokyo and the world of unknown creatures that live all around us.
