Edo Tokyo Kirari Project & Britain’s Victoria and Albert Museum present“ Masterclass: Tokyo Crafts,” a collaborative art event

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the “Edo Tokyo Kirari Project” to refine the “Treasures of Tokyo,” such as the traditional techniques and fine articles produced by historical establishments of Edo/Tokyo, and share their value and charm with the world. Along with the project, we held an online exhibition of modern art & traditional industries in March 2021.
Works created for the exhibition were collected by Britain’s Victoria and Albert Museum. We are pleased to announce that the art event “Masterclass: Tokyo Crafts” will be held jointly-hosted by the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
TMG will promote the “Treasures of Tokyo” that are adding new value to tradition as part of the Edo Tokyo Kirari Project under the concept of “Old meets New” (meaning the traditional and the cutting edge are intertwined) in the UK and further throughout the world.
