Governor Attends the Opening Ceremony for the Exhibition ‘(UN)KNOWN HIROKO KOSHINO: New / True Perspectives of Hiroko Koshino’
On May 25, Governor Koike attended the opening ceremony for the exhibition “(UN)KNOWN HIROKO KOSHINO: New/True Perspectives of Hiroko Koshino” held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
The governor said, “Ms. Koshino is known as one of Japan’s leading fashion designers, but I believe she is fundamentally an artist. Fashion is one form of expression, and as an artist, Ms. Koshino is making full use of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo to convey her message this time.
“What Japan should deliver globally is its culture. Many foreign visitors come to Tokyo to enjoy Japanese culture. I sincerely hope that the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo will serve as a venue for artist Koshino to convey a huge message, both her ‘New and True Perspectives,’ from Tokyo,” she said.
