Tokyo 2020 Paralympics 5th Anniversary with Special Guests
Further to our announcement of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics 5-Year Anniversary Special Event of May 28, we are pleased to provide details of the various planned activities. Tokyo 2020 Para athletes and guests including Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Shingo Katori, all special ambassadors of the International Paralympic Committee, will appear on stage and hold a talk show about the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. From today until Thursday, July 30, we are accepting advance applications for this Special Event. Coverage opportunities on the day will be announced around mid-August.
1. Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games 5th Anniversary Commemorative Special Stage
Date & Time: Sunday, August 30, 2026 / 16:00 to 17:00
Location: Tokyo International Forum Hall B5 (3-5-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)
Organizer: Tokyo Metropolitan Government
Supported by: Japanese Para Sports Association Japanese Paralympic Committee
Activities: A special stage performance featuring stories and messages collected from Tokyo residents, recalling the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and evoking the emotions and memories of that time. There will be demonstrations by Para athletes, talk shows, and a performance of 'Ameagari No Step' by Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori.
Admission: Free, however advance application is required. For details, see the section “How to apply for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games 5th Anniversary Commemorative Special Stage” below.

Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games 5th Anniversary Commemorative Special Stage
Date & Time: Sunday, August 30, 2026 / 16:00 to 17:00
Location: Tokyo International Forum Hall B5
Capacity: Approximately 300 people (lottery, fee admission). Wheelchair seats and sign language seats will be available. Stage audio will also be broadcast as text.

Each person may apply only once. Only one person can apply per application. If multiple entries by the same individual are made, all entries will be considered invalid. Applications by phone will not be accepted. However, applicants requiring special assistance due to a disability may request up to two tickets, including one ticket for an accompanying caregiver.
Eligibility:
• Applicants must be residents of Japan (regardless of nationality).
• They must enter the required information on the dedicated event page and apply during the application period.
• They must agree to these application terms.
• Applications are open to individuals in the first grade of elementary school and older.
• Minors must obtain the consent of a legal guardian or legal representative before applying.
• On the day of the event, participants must observe the entry conditions and venue rules set by the organizer; ID verification may be required.
Lottery results will be sent from tps@eventify.co.jp on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Please ensure that you can receive emails from this domain. Please note that we cannot answer any inquiries regarding the lottery results.

Submitted stories and messages will be featured on the special website. They may also be introduced in promotional and advertising materials. Please note that not all submissions are guaranteed to be published on the website.

• The copyright of all submitted stories and messages shall belong to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
• The submission of stories and messages that fall under any of the following categories is strictly prohibited:
• Content that infringes upon intellectual property rights or other rights.
