Further to our announcement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic 5-Year Anniversary Event of May 28, we are pleased to provide details of the various planned activities. These will include athletes' talk event and the opportunity for members of the public to try out various sports. We look forward to welcoming you along with the official Tokyo 2020 Mascots Miraitowa and Someity! Details of the coverage opportunities on the event day will be announced in due course (around mid-July).
1. Tokyo 2020 Games 5th Anniversary Commemorative Event
Date & Time: Saturday July 25, 2026 / 11:00 to 17:00 Location: Tokyo Midtown Atrium (9-7-1 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo) Organizer: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Supporters: Japanese Olympic Committee, Japanese Para Sports Association Japanese Paralympic Committee Activities: ・Sports experiences including sport climbing, wheelchair basketball, and lacrosse ・Athletes' Sports Experience Sessions and Demonstrations ・Talk Event by Athletes and others ・Tokyo 2020 Games Official Mascot Greetings ・Content allowing attendees to experience a sense of presence and immersion through digital technology (extended reality) ・Exhibition of Tokyo 2020 Games Archive Assets (Medals and Torch) Admission: Free – open to everyone.

Stage event 11:05 – 11:20: Opening Ceremony •Introduction of guests, event program •Greetings by guests and photo sessions •High-five event with Miraitowa and Someity (Please refrain from taking individual photos during this event). 11:45 – 11:50: Radio Calisthenics (Japanese morning exercise program) 13:30 – 13:45: Tokyo 2020 Games Official Mascot Greeting Session 1 14:00 – 14:30: Kids × Athletes Talk Show 16:30 – 16:45: Tokyo 2020 Games Official Mascot Greeting Session 2
11:20 – 17:00: Athletes' sports experience sessions and demonstrations

2. Tokyo 2020 Games 5-Year Anniversary Stamp Rally at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office
A Tokyo 2020 Games 5th Anniversary “Stamp Rally” will be hosted whereby participants will tour the Archive Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Those who collect all stamps will receive a sticker as a commemorative gift. We look forward to your participation!
Date: From Thursday July 23 to Friday August 7, 2026 (Stamp rally will not be held on July 25 and 26 as the 2nd Floor Central Exhibition Area will be closed on those days).
Location: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices (3 locations)
A. 2nd Floor Central Exhibition Area B. 2nd Floor North Exhibition Area Opening hours: 09:30 – 17:30 on weekdays; 11:00 – 18:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays Closed days: July 25 and 26 2026, Year-end/New Year holidays and Tokyo Metropolitan Government Facility Maintenance Days
C. North Observation Deck Opening hours: 9:30 – 17:30 Closed days: Days when North Observation deck is closed (please see here for details) Participation fee: Free admission. Open to everyone. How to participate: Stamp sheets will be available at three exhibition locations. Participants should come and pick these up directly at the above locations. (Commemorative gifts will be provided at the 2nd Floor Central Exhibition Area. Please note that distribution of commemorative gifts may end once supplies run out.)
3. Limited-time light display in the Olympic colors
To celebrate the Tokyo 2020 Games 5-Year Anniversary, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government No.1 Building, Tokyo Metropolitan sports facilities, and the Sumida River bridges will be lit up in the Olympic colors on July 23 – the very day the Opening Ceremony took place! Don't miss this exclusive, limited-time light display!
