Meeting with Koga Soshi, Mayor of Hino City
Governor Koike held a meeting on May 16 with Koga Soshi, who has been newly appointed Mayor of Hino City.
She congratulated Mr. Koga on his election as the mayor of a city in the capital’s western Tama region.
Citing the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s plan for sustainable development of Tama, Governor Koike told the mayor, “We would like to explore the future of the region as a whole through cooperation with all in the cities, towns and villages there.”
Mayor Koga thanked the governor in reply and said, “In my election campaign, I pledged to promote the health of citizens.”
“Also, rich in nature and complete with urban areas, Hino City receives high overall marks,” he went on. “I pledged to develop its urban infrastructure and protect its rich natural surroundings, with the aim of further enhancing the good living environment we have grown accustomed to.”
“We will do our utmost with the support of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.”
