Tokyo 2050 Strategy: Unlocking a Better Future

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced Tokyo 2050 Strategy : Unlocking a Better Future in March 2025. The “ Tokyo 2050 Strategy” is a new compass that integrates policies to be implemented by 2035 to realize the “Vision” of what Tokyo aims to be in the 2050s.

■Spending by Foreign Visitors to Tokyo Increase to 6.3 trillion yen

15 Culture & Entertainment

■Improve the percentage of people who “enjoy the cultural environment”To 75% or more

■Increase the percentage of people who take part in cultural activities To 40% or more

16 Sports

■Increase the percentage of Tokyo residents who feel a sense of well-being through sports to 80%

■Keep the percentage of Tokyo’s residents playing sports above 70% and aim to raise it to the world’s highest level
