‘Pokémon GO Fest: Tokyo’ Joint Press Conference
On February 12, Governor Koike attended the “Pokémon GO Fest: Tokyo” Joint Press Conference held at Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba. Kawai Keiichi, President of Niantic, Inc., and Utsunomiya Takato, COO of The Pokémon Company, along with Minato Ward Mayor Seike Ai, Koto Ward Mayor Okubo Tomoka, and Shinagawa Ward Mayor Morisawa Kyoko, were also present.
Governor Koike stated, “The main venue is in the Tokyo Waterfront City, an area featuring a new arena and recently opened entertainment facilities. A new landmark fountain is also scheduled for completion next month.”
She added, “Tokyo is a captivating city where traditions dating back to the Edo period coexist with innovation. Another of its attractions is the opportunity to enjoy cuisine from around the world. I hope everyone will discover the unique charm of Tokyo together with Pokémon.”
