Announcing the Opening of “Access to Tokyo” in Bengaluru, India: Providing Local Startups Insights into Tokyo
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is proud to announce the opening of a new “Access to Tokyo” touchpoint and support desk in Bengaluru, in the fast-developing market that is India.
TMG aims to make Tokyo a global financial city that attracts funds, talent, technology, and information from around the world, creating a virtuous cycle of investment and innovation.“Access to Tokyo” desks are already operating in London, Paris, San Francisco, and Singapore; our latest opening will strengthen TMG’s global startup initiatives.
Our new Bengaluru center will actively promote the attractiveness of the Tokyo business environment, leading to collaborations between local companies and Tokyo-based firms as well as the creation of new innovations.

Operations:
- Actively visit local companies, exhibitions, and other events in order to attract firms to Tokyo as well as identify promising companies that are interested in entering the Tokyo market.
- Respond to inquiries from foreign firms interested in entering the Tokyo market or looking for information about the Japanese market in general.
- Provide information to government agencies, industry associations, investors, and others in various countries.
(Introduction to Tokyo’s startup ecosystem as well as contacts for services and business support when expanding into the city. Also, information on Tokyo-based firms considering overseas expansion and other activities)
Future Developments in India and the Middle East
TMG will strengthen connections with the Indian and Middle Eastern markets by participating in local exhibitions and holding seminars to accelerate the entry of local firms into the Tokyo market. Through this, we aim to promote collaboration with Tokyo-based firms and create new innovations.
