Labor Consultation for Foreign Workers Planned in Sept.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Labor Consultation Center will hold Labor Consultations for Foreign Workers on September 16 and 17.

The center accepts requests for consultations on general labor issues from both employers and employees, including foreign nationals. This consultation event is held in collaboration with the Tokyo International Recruitment Navigation Center and the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau. It is aimed at foreign workers employed in Tokyo and at employers who hire them.

The consultations will cover a broad range of issues that foreign workers may face in the workplace, such as dismissal, unpaid wages, and harassment.

In the consultations, they can also seek advice on how to search for, change, or quit jobs. Meanwhile, employers can seek advice on how to employ and manage foreign workers and also ask for advice on residency status.

There are two consultation methods: on-demand telephone consultations and in-person consultations via prior appointment.

In-person consultations will be held at the Tokyo Labor Consultation Center in Chiyoda Ward. All consultations are free of charge, and strict confidentiality is guaranteed.

Interpreters for English and Chinese will be available for both types of consultations, and for in-person consultations, a video-call interpretation service in 14 languages will also be provided.
