TMG to Host Intl Conference on Social Implementation of Hydrogen

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host an international conference aimed at expanding the spread of hydrogen energy and further accelerating its social implementation at the Tokyo Innovation Base in Chiyoda Ward on October 14 and 15.

This conference, “HENCA Tokyo 2026—Hydrogen Energy Conference for Action,” will bring together key figures in the hydrogen sector both from Japan and abroad to promote cooperation and exchange toward the creation of a hydrogen market, while also widely sharing and disseminating the latest global market trends and cutting-edge initiatives and projects undertaken both in Japan and overseas.

The first day, named “JAPAN DAY,” will feature sessions on public-private partnerships—including those in the mobility sector—for the social implementation of hydrogen in Japan. The second day, dubbed “GLOBAL DAY,” will focus on initiatives taken by companies that are active globally to create global markets, as well as interregional cooperation.

Also to be held is an exhibition showcasing innovative initiatives by startups and other organizations. In addition to introducing the latest projects and technologies from companies leading hydrogen-related businesses—such as in mobility and plant manufacturing—both at home and abroad, as well as new products from domestic and international startups, the event will also feature sessions such as panel discussions led by exhibitors.

The conference will also be live-streamed online with simultaneous interpretation in Japanese and English. Advance registration is required for both on-site attendance and online viewing. Registration is under way on the website.
