2025 Children’s Smile Movement Grand Prize
Governor Koike attended the award ceremony for the 2025 Children’s Smile Movement Grand Prize on December 1, 2025.
“This Children’s Smile Movement began four years ago, and now an impressive number of 2,200 companies and organizations are participating,” she told the ceremony. “And here’s some good news. The number of births in Tokyo has increased by 0.3%. It was the first rise in 10 years.”
“We want to create a cycle where people continue looking forward to having and raising children, children enjoying themselves, and these experiences becoming lifelong memories,” the governor said. “This is possible through initiatives that involve everyone in child-rearing and the whole society in supporting children.”
“We will continue working together—public and private sectors united,” Governor Koike declared. “Let’s join our force, pool our wisdom, and stay creative and joyful to build a children-first society.”
