4th Meeting of Tokyo’s Childcare DX Promotion Council
Governor Koike on December 16 attended the fourth meeting of a council organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) to promote digital transformation in child-rearing.
The gathering—formally named the Tokyo Children’s DX 2025 Connected Childrearing Promotion Council—was launched in December 2023 bringing together representatives of the TMG, national government, municipalities and organizations promoting childcare DX.
“We are advancing push-type childcare services and other steps in our ‘Childcare DX’ initiative focused on transforming childcare services,” the governor said. She noted that in the last fiscal year her administration improved the procedures for the “018 Support” program, which provides allowances to children aged 18 or under, and launched new services such as the “One-Stop Childcare Enrollment Project,” which provides online, one-stop information on childcare facilities.
“We are further improving and reinforcing the initiative in the current fiscal year, including simultaneous applications for the 018 Support and Baby First (free goods and services for newborns) programs, and the expansion of the One-Stop Childcare Enrollment system,” the governor explained.
“By sharing challenges and exchanging ideas with everyone, we are achieving visible results,” she added. “The child-rearing generation is truly busy. We aim to create an environment where parents can raise children with greater peace of mind by leveraging digital technology to provide highly convenient services.”
