Tokyo World Athletics Pre-Event Runs on the KK Line
On September 12, 2025, Governor Koike attended the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 pre-event festival “RUNS: into KK” held on the KK Line (former Tokyo Expressway). The event featured various running activities, including a one-mile race, a half marathon relay, and an attempt at Guinness World Records.
The governor stated, “The World Athletics Championships will finally start tomorrow. Since we will be challenging the Guinness World Record tonight, breaking a record would send a powerful message of support to all the competing athletes. Let us all pray for good weather right from tomorrow's opening ceremony, and I sincerely hope it will be a wonderful event.”
