Governor Koike and Cyndi Lauper Share Thoughts on Music and Women at TMG Bldg.
Governor Koike met with Cyndi Lauper, now on her final Japan tour, and exchanged views on music and women’s roles at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on April 27.
During their meeting held at the Observatory, Cyndi praised Japan as the home of music, art and design, and added that its culture that accepts music is wonderful. The Governor responded by saying, “We are inspired by your wonderful music.”
They also shared thoughts on the roles played by women.
Cyndi said, “Women can thrive more. Creating a sustainable society is vital for women and children.” Governor Koike emphasized in response, “With half of Tokyo’s population being women, harnessing their power and energy will drive progress.”
