Tokyo-London Financial Innovation Seminar 2026 Now Accepting Applications
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and the City of London Corporation are pleased to announce that they will jointly host the Tokyo-London Financial Innovation Seminar 2026 at Tokyo Innovation Base on Thursday, 18 June 2026. Registration is now open, and participation is free of charge.
The seminar will feature prominent leaders driving the financial centres of Japan and the UK, including Tokyo Governor Ms. Koike Yuriko and the Lady Mayor of London, Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley. The event will also provide opportunities for one-on-one business meetings and networking, aiming to foster collaboration among financial professionals and investors and support the evolution of both cities as leading international financial hubs.
Since signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in December 2017, the TMG and the City of London Corporation —the heart of the capital’s financial district—have been collaborating to grow and develop together as international financial centres. This has included regular high-level information exchanges and co-hosting events in both cities. The MoU was updated in last September to further strengthen collaboration by enhancing financial innovation and promoting increased investment between Japan and the UK.
As part of this renewed commitment, the upcoming seminar will bring together leaders from both cities to discuss financial initiatives through panel discussions and pitches, deepen mutual understanding and help fintech companies discover new business opportunities, aiming to accelerate financial innovation and expand Japan-UK investment.
