Tokyo Metropolitan Government and FinCity.Tokyo to Host “Tokyo Sustainable Finance Week 2025”
TOKYO, October 8, 2025 – The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and the Organization of Global Financial City Tokyo (FinCity.Tokyo) jointly announced today that they will be hosting "Tokyo Sustainable Finance Week 2025"1 from October 15 to October 24, 2025.
This event aligns with the "Japan Weeks" initiative2 promoted by the Financial Services Agency, which aims to enhance Tokyo's reputation as a hub for sustainable finance. Additionally, TMG is implementing initiatives aimed at establishing Tokyo as “Asia's Innovation and Financial Hub for Realizing a Sustainable Society” by attracting global capital, technology, and talent. Tokyo Sustainable Finance Week is one part of these efforts, which aim to help spur Japan’s economic growth and that of the broader Asian region.
“Tokyo Sustainable Finance Forum,” one of this year’s major events, will focus on themes where market changes intersect with societal challenges, such as “Decarbonization and Economic Growth,” “Urban Competitiveness and International Collaboration,” and “Generative AI and Finance.” Additionally, the “Seminar on Promoting Sustainability Management for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises“ (in Japanese only) will address ways for small and medium-sized enterprises to incorporate sustainability into the running of their companies, focusing on real-world challenges and financial issues. Through discussions led by speakers from various fields, the event will explore essential perspectives and the actions needed to be taken today.
