‘Park Piano’ and Concert on the Green Field Planned at Hibiya Park

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will hold “Park Piano Hibiya” and “Concert on the Green Field” at Hibiya Park, a park under renovation to make it barrier-free for everyone, from October 30 through November 3.

The event will take place on the Green Field, which reopened in 2024 as part of the park’s large-scale renewal to make it accessible for everyone.

Although “Park Piano” has rules—such as a 10-minute play time limit per person—the piano will be available from 10:00 to 19:00 each day, except during the time when the concert is being prepared and held.

The concert, a program where people can enjoy music on the lawn free of charge, will be held from 12:00 to 13:00 each day.

As part of this initiative, straw mats, which are gentle on the lawn, will be loaned free of charge, while vibration cushions that allow visitors to feel the sound, as well as devices that enable those with hearing aids to listen to the concert, will be provided. Meanwhile, food trucks will also be available on site. These services will be available daily from 10:00 to 19:00.

Based on the ‘Barrier-Free Hibiya Park Project’ formulated in July 2023, TMG is proceeding with the park’s renovation, with its completion scheduled for 2033. This event offers an opportunity to experience the park as it is being transformed.
