Celebrates Paralympics’ 5th Anniversary on the Special Stage
On August 30, 2026, Governor Koike attended the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games 5th Anniversary Special Stage held at the Tokyo International Forum.
The governor said, “This weekend, President Parsons of the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) toured Tokyo along with the Paralympic Ambassadors. He saw firsthand just how widespread Paralympic sports have become—even after five years—and that they will continue to grow even further. Universal design is also firmly established.”
She continued, “I believe he truly felt that the legacy has taken root in society and continues to spread. Today, I hope we can once again recall those moving moments and use this as an opportunity to carry the legacy we have built over the past five years into the future and share it around the world.”
