Governor Attends the 6th TOKYO Data Highway Summit
On November 20, Governor Koike attended the 6th “TOKYO Data Highway Summit.”
At the summit, the governor noted, “This year, various natural disasters have shaken throughout the country. In Tokyo, Typhoons No. 22 and No. 23 recently caused huge damage, mainly to Hachijojima and Aogashima islands.”
She then emphasized, “Regarding the area of communications, emergency restoration was swiftly carried out there, thanks to the use of satellite communications and other means. We ask for your continued cooperation in the recovery efforts.”
In concluding her address, she said, “The theme of this summit is drawing an image of a future society of ‘Connected Tokyo’ where everyone feels connected. In March, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government formulated the ‘Tokyo 2050 Tokyo Strategy’ as a new compass for its administration. We’d like to move ahead fast to realize ‘Connected Tokyo’.”
