Signs Agreement with JADA and JAF for Disaster Preparedness
On March 30, Governor Koike attended a signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement with the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) Tokyo Branch and the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Tokyo Branch, aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness. Mr. Kato Kazuo, who serves as director of both organizations, was also present at the ceremony.
The governor remarked, “The increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters, as well as the risk of a major earthquake directly beneath the capital—which could strike at any time—are pressing challenges that cannot be postponed.”
She emphasized, “This agreement will allow us to further strengthen cooperation, including temporary shelters and the use of electric vehicles as power sources during emergencies, enhancing Tokyo’s disaster response capabilities.”
She added, “Guided by the principle of ‘Always Be Prepared,’ we will take the necessary precautions while working closely with JADA and JAF, as well as with municipalities across Tokyo.”
