Governor Koike meets with the former prime minister of Ukraine
On Friday, July 29, Governor Koike met with former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.
The governor commented, “Although Ukraine and Japan are separated by great geographical distance, the number of evacuees from the Ukraine living in Tokyo metropolitan housing increases daily. As of today, 198 evacuees have taken up residence in metropolitan housing. Children are also attending metropolitan schools. Many of the evacuees have had to leave family members behind. And, we will continue to support them to ensure that they can live in Tokyo with peace in mind.”
