Tokyo Waterworks Environmental Initiatives and Overseas Energy & Environmental Information
The waterworks business produces tap water from precious and limited water resources created by the water, and delivers this water to customers, so the business is deeply connected to the global environment.
To reduce the environmental burden caused by our business activities, Tokyo Waterworks has regularly made environmental plans and taken environmental initiatives since 2004.
In March 2020, we formulated the "Bureau of Waterworks, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Environmental Five-Year Plan 2020-2024", which clarifies our 5-year efforts and goals, with the purpose of effectively and comprehensively reducing the environmental burden caused by Tokyo Waterworks business.
In this plan, in addition to introducing energy saving and renewable energy, conserving water source forests and controlling waste, we also ambitiously tackle new issues such as plastic countermeasures and adaptation to climate change.
On this page, we post environmental reports that summarize the latest environmental plan and initiatives of Tokyo Waterworks.
In addition, this page also serves as an information bulletin board, for introducing plans and examples of energy and environmental measures that water utilities in other countries are engaged in. Please contact us about new plans or examples of energy and environmental measures!
