Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Visits the Governor
On Thursday, October 20, Ms. Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, met with Governor Koike at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
Minister Fu came to Japan to attend the World Forum on Sport and Culture.
“As governor of Tokyo, I hope to deepen friendly ties with Singapore, especially with this year being the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore. I hope some of the energy of Singapore, which is constantly advancing, will also rub off on Tokyo. If Singapore and Tokyo can work closely together, we can both make an impact as economic hubs in Asia,” said the governor.
Minister Fu, believing this to be a crucial time to preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, said, “I can really feel everyone’s strong emotion. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are an important event, not only for Tokyo and Japan, but for everyone around the world, as it carries the dreams of all sorts of people.”
