Awarding Creators at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2026
On June 10, 2026, Governor Koike attended the awards ceremony for the “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2026,” held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA.
The governor stated, “In the Cinematic Tokyo Competition (co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government), Tokyo Submarine won the (Best Short Award and the Governor of Tokyo) Award. Congratulations. Short films are not just short; they are packed with emotion. I believe that alone makes them well worth watching.”
She continued, “Japan’s film industry is thriving, and Japanese film creators have earned high reputations around the world. I sincerely hope that this festival will serve as a springboard for many talented creators to leap from Tokyo onto the global stage.”
