On May 14, Mr. Bessho Tetsuya, President of “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2026,” paid his courtesy call to Governor Koike. Along with Mr. Bessho, Ms. Nagahama Hina and Ms. Honmo Ayaka, the navigators for SSFF & ASIA, also paid their courtesy calls.

The governor said, “Congratulations on the holding of the 28th Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. As one of Asia’s largest film festivals, it is very encouraging to see that so many talents have emerged from this international short film festival. I look forward to seeing who will come next.

“Tokyo is home to super-urban areas. It also has islands, and the Tama area, both of which are rich in greenery. Furthermore, the city has depth in terms of history and culture. I hope that through the films produced by the creators from home and abroad, you will share the charm of Tokyo,” the governor said.
