Governor Attends the 1st ‘Tokyo Marriage Support Meeting’ for FY2025

On June 26, Governor Koike attended the 1st “Tokyo Marriage Support Meeting” for FY2025.

The governor stated, “It is important for cities and towns to be places where citizens can achieve their self-realization, and it is essential to support their various efforts and activities aimed at making that a reality. Since launching this meeting last June, we have received your cooperation on various initiatives, such as the (TOKYO Marriage) Support Festa held in Yurakucho, and photo weddings utilizing metropolitan government facilities. The metropolitan government’s AI-driven matchmaking system, ‘TOKYO Enmusubi,’ has received applications from more than 20,000 people, and the number of serious relationships has been increasing significantly.

“The current trend in Tokyo, as seen in the number of marriages on the rise, is a positive sign. It is only by working together with you that we can further solidify this trend and raise the momentum toward marriage. We look forward to working with you,” she said.
