Tokyo Women’s Future Forum 2026: A Venue for Companies to Consider Women’s Empowerment
On January 26, Governor Koike attended the “Tokyo Women’s Future Forum 2026: A Venue for Companies to Consider Women’s Empowerment,” held at the Tokyo International Forum in Chiyoda Ward.
On the occasion of making a joint declaration to promote women’s advancement and diversity management, Governor Koike said, “The times are changing rapidly and wildly. AI is also evolving at an amazing speed. Yet, the driving force behind the growth of society remains to lie with people.’ It would be a waste not to make the best use of the power of women, who account for half the population and represent Japan’s largest underutilized energy resource.
To dramatically accelerate the creation of an environment where women can fully wield their individuality and abilities at their workplace, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has recently enacted an ordinance. The proactive efforts of companies will be crucial. I’d like to ask you to push forward organizational change with your strong leadership. TMG will, for our part, firmly support your efforts through various initiatives.
If companies change, the awareness and actions of society as a whole will change. Let us all shift our mindset, both within companies and in society. And let us join forces and apply our ingenuity and creativity to expand the circle of women’s active participation, with both women and men working together, thereby enabling our society to shine further.”
