Signing of the Basic Accord on Cooperation in Promoting AI Use between Tokyo, Hiroshima and GovTechTokyo
On January 26, 2026, Governor Koike attended a ceremony to conclude the “Basic Agreement on Collaboration and Cooperation in Promoting the Utilization of AI” between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Hiroshima prefectural government, and GovTechTokyo.
The ceremony was also attended by Hiroshima Governor Yokota Mika and GovTechTokyo Vice President Fukai Minoru.
Governor Koike said, “By finely honing further the capabilities and knowledge our administrative services have, through the utilization of AI, I hope we can provide better-quality services to the citizens of both Hiroshima Prefecture and Tokyo.
“The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been strategically advancing a thorough utilization of AI. With our times undergoing great changes, we’d like to continue moving forward, while sharing and collaborating on generative AI platforms, to ensure better utilization of AI for the citizens of both Tokyo and Hiroshima,” said Governor Koike.
