Call to Action for Hydrogen Use at “HENCA Tokyo 2025”
On October 21, Governor Koike attended the international conference on hydrogen energy, “HENCA Tokyo 2025,” hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo in Shinjuku.
In the opening remarks, the governor stated, "With unprecedented heat and disasters striking one after another worldwide, the climate crisis is unlike anything we have ever faced before. Decarbonization can no longer be delayed.”
“Today’s unpredictable international situation has further complicated global trends in energy. Japan, in particular as an island nation, is exposed to serious energy risks. Under these circumstances, hydrogen stands out as one of the key solutions for ensuring energy security and achieving decarbonization,” she continued.
“Changing our behavior provides the momentum needed to change the future. And today’s theme is ‘Progress of Hydrogen Projects and the Emergence of Hydrogen Businesses.’ Let us transform these discussions into concrete actions and collaborate to carve out the future with the power of hydrogen,” she concluded.
