Courtesy Call with Senior Officials from Global City Network for Sustainability (G-NETS) Cities

On Wednesday, May 7, Governor Koike met with Senior Officials from Global City Network for Sustainability (G-NETS) Cities during a courtesy call.
In her welcome remarks, the governor said: “We are welcoming officials from 58 cities around the world, including those joining online. The world is now confronting many kinds of threats, including the increasingly uncertain and turbulent international situation, the escalating climate crisis, and more frequent and intensifying natural disasters. G-NETS is a forum for cities to hold discussions and share insights on solutions to these common challenges we face and cooperate in efforts to realize a sustainable world. By concurrently hosting SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025, one of Asia's largest startup conferences [with the G-NETS Senior Officials Meeting between May 7 and 9], events, in cooperation with startups such as reverse pitches, are also scheduled to be held. The world is evolving at an increasingly fast pace and keeps accelerating. I look forward to a very productive meeting that leads to us building a brighter future together.”
