U20 Mayors Summit Mayors of the World’s Cities Partner to Deliver a Communiqué to the G20
The Urban 20 (U20), chaired by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held the third U20 Mayors Summit as an online, remote conference as follows. A communiqué was issued and delivered as a message to the 2020 G20 Summit. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government also signed this communiqué as a participating city of the U20.

Wednesday, September 30 to Friday, October 2, 2020, beginning from 10:00 pm (JST) every night.
*This was held as a remote conference from the city of Riyadh, the U20 chair.
Key points of the communiqué
Calls for partnership between the cities and G20 countries to address common challenges facing the world such as post-COVID-19 recovery, climate change measures, transition to a circular, carbon-neutral economy, and empowerment for a more equitable and inclusive future.

Overview of the Urban 20 (U20)
The U20 is a forum for cities, which was established by the mayors of Buenos Aires and Paris on December 12, 2017. The purpose of its activities is to deliver a message from the perspective of cities, which will contribute to the G20 agenda. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government joined on January 24, 2018, and was the U20 chair in 2019.
The U20 is an engagement group of the G20.
