Conclusion of an MoU on exchange and cooperation between Los Angeles and Tokyo
On Friday, August 27, Governor Koike took part in an online meeting with Mayor Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on exchange and cooperation between Los Angeles and Tokyo.
The governor said, “Tokyo and Los Angeles have built a very fruitful relationship as the host cities of the Tokyo 2020 Games and LA 2028 Games. Seizing the opportunity presented by the Tokyo 2020 Games, we confirmed that both of our cities will work to further strengthen collaboration to overcome crises faced by humankind, including the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, and advance a sustainable recovery. Through the signing of this MoU, I hope that Los Angles and Tokyo will further deepen exchange and cooperation, contributing to the prosperity of both cities.”
