Governor Koike meets with IOC President Thomas Bach
On Monday, November 16, Govornor Koike met with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Thomas Bach, and confirmed that they will firmly work together for the Tokyo 2020 Games.
The Govornor commented, “The Antwerp Games of 100 years ago remain in people's memories as the Games that survived World War I and the Spanish flu. I want Tokyo 2020 to also be a Games that overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. We are working hard to ensure that the Games are safe and secure for everyone. ” IOC President Bach replied, “The IOC shares the Governor's commitment and we will work together to successfully hold a reassuring Tokyo 2020 Games.”
