Award-Winning Event for the ‘Tokyo Contest of Heat Countermeasure Goods’
On May 29, Governor Koike attended the award-winning event for the “Tokyo Contest of Heat Countermeasure Goods.”
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government promotes “Tokyo Cool Biz,” an initiative aimed at balancing smart energy-saving measures with comfortable living. This contest has been held to advance a shift toward a lifestyle adjusted to the summer heat.
The governor said, “Products stuffed with various ingenious ideas were presented, and people cast their votes. Everyone pooled their ideas on how to cope with the summer heat, and I would like to thank the creators of the 12 award-winning products for their hard work. I really felt their excellence.
“I hope you will make use of various heat countermeasure goods this summer, including heat checkers and apps to map out walking routes with shade, both in your daily lives and at work. Let’s get through the harsh summer safely and comfortably by taking actions that will lower the temperature in the three elements of the Tokyo Cool Biz campaign: ‘work environment,’ ‘living environment,’ and ‘wearing environment,’” she said.
