Tokyo Disaster Response Headquarters Meeting (2nd Session)
On October 9, Governor Koike attended the second session of the Tokyo Disaster Response Headquarters Meeting in reaction to Typhoon Halong (No. 22).
The governor issued three directives as the next steps.
“First, promptly assess the damage, which has occurred primarily in Hachijo Town and Aogashima Village. Make every effort to ascertain accurately situations involving human lives.”
“Second, swiftly provide necessary support based on the needs of each island municipality. With the potential impact of Typhoon Nakri (No. 23) in mind, ensure early restoration of lifelines and transportation of supplies.”
“Third, continue to provide timely and appropriate information to Tokyo residents. Actively gather updates from the Japan Meteorological Agency and other relevant organizations. While island municipalities should make every effort to restore lifelines, they are encouraged to notify the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for any specific requests.”
She concluded, “I ask each bureau to provide meticulous support, in close coordination with the local municipalities, to restore lifelines on the islands."
