Technological Support for the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority
The Bureau of Sewerage of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has agreed to implement the following technical assistance for the development of the sewerage systems in Dhaka City, Bangladesh, upon the request of the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority through the Asian Development Bank.
Technological Support Outline
- Transfer of expertise and technology through peer-to-peer exchanges in the following areas.
- Smart and resilient sewerage services with a focus on efficient energy planning, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and efficient operation and maintenance
- Sludge management
- Compact sewerage treatment plants
- A detailed work plan will be prepared later.
- A commitment of up to 12 months has been established, with the possibility of an extension or shortening by mutual agreement of both parties.
- The Asian Development Bank will provide financial assistance.
