Governor Koike Presents Decorations to Individuals of Merit
On May 1, Governor Koike presented decorations to individuals of merit at a biannual presentation ceremony held for the spring of 2026.
The governor said, “I would like to express my heartfelt respect to all of those who have weathered many difficulties and hardships and have made great achievements. And I would also like to express my gratitude to those relatives and officials concerned who have supported the recipients.
“The wealth of your knowledge and experience that has laid the foundation of the present Tokyo is an indispensable and invaluable asset for Tokyo. I hope you will pass on such assets, your thoughts and feelings, to the next generation. Please continue to lend us your assistance. Let us work together to realize Tokyo as the world’s greatest city where every individual can fully demonstrate their abilities and truly feel that ‘tomorrow will be better than today,’” she said with emphasis.
“I conclude my congratulatory remarks by wishing you all the best of health, continued vitality, and success,” the governor said.
