TOKYO GX ACTION CHANGING: Decarbonization Actions to Change the Future
On May 18, 2025, Governor Koike attended the “TOKYO GX ACTION CHANGING: Decarbonization Actions to Change the Future,” an event held at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward. This event was held in conjunction with the Formula E Tokyo race. Da-iCE, a five-member group of male artists, also attended.
The governor said, “The Formula E Tokyo race, which is the world’s top-notch EV race and has been expanded to a two-day event this year, has returned to Tokyo. It is also Japan’s only automobile race utilizing large-scale public roads, and last year’s race was incredibly intense. I am delighted that so many people are participating in the race again this year, with the event being held on such a grand scale.”
She went on to say, “Through this event, I hope people will experience the appeal of electric vehicles—environmentally friendly vehicles that emit no CO2 while driving. I also hope this event will catalyze accelerating decarbonization in the mobility sector. Let’s all cheer on this exciting race that will lead to a sustainable future.”
