2025 Tokyo Networking Night with the Islamic Missions
On Tuesday, March 18, Governor Koike hosted the 2025 Tokyo Networking Night with the Islamic Missions.
In her welcome remarks, the governor said: “This year, the World Athletics Championships and the Deaflympics will be held in Tokyo. International sporting competitions have the power to energize society. We will work to make sure that the two events this year will inherit and build on the many legacies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, and create new legacies of their own. Here today, we have a display featuring two sample Deaflympic medals. More than eighty thousand children across Japan voted on the medal design. In the final tally, the orizuru paper crane design, based on the concept of ‘spreading our wings,’ was selected. I hope you find today’s presentation about the competitions to be informative.”
