2025 Tokyo Ambassadors Night
On Thursday, January 23, Governor Koike hosted the 2025 Tokyo Ambassadors Night, a networking and information event for embassies and representative offices in Tokyo at the Azabudai Hills complex in Minato-ku.
In her remarks, the governor explained that the World Athletics Championships and the Deaflympics will be held this year in Tokyo. She said, “We hope that the successful holding of these events, which provide hope and dreams to many people, will boost momentum for realizing an inclusive city.” She then introduced a display featuring two Deaflympic sample medals. “More than eighty thousand children across Japan voted on the design for the medals. In the final tally, the orizuru paper crane design based on the ‘spreading our wings’ concept was selected.” The governor then concluded her remarks by inviting those in attendance to enjoy a selection of dishes made with Tokyo-sourced ingredients overseen by Chef Mikuni Kiyomi, as well as locally brewed sake and shochu, adding “Let us enjoy our time together tonight and deepen friendships.”
