Closure of the observatories
The observatories at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building will be temporarily closed in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), as detailed below.
1 Reason for closure
As part of measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is as a general rule postponing or cancelling large-scale indoor events that it has organized until Sunday 15 March 2020.
The TMG observatories, which receive large numbers of visitors, including tourists, will be temporarily closed in consideration of the health and safety of citizens and visitors, which are the highest priority.

3 Period of closure
From Thursday 27 February to Sunday 15 March (tentative)
(set in accordance with a crucial three week period for preventing the spread of the disease.)
* The period of closure may be extended dependent on future circumstances. Information regarding the reopening date and time will be released via channels such as the TMG official website and twitter (@tocho_tenbou).
