Additional security measures to be implemented at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings during various events
During the hosting of various events, such as the Rugby World Cup™, additional security measures will be implemented, as detailed below, in order to ensure the safety of visitors, employees and so on, and prevent attempted acts of terrorism etc.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause users of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings, but request your understanding and cooperation.
1 Time period of additional security measures at the TMG buildings
From 19 October (Sat) until 2 November (Sat) 2019
2 Implementation details
- Closure of 4 entrances to the TMG Buildings (see appendix)
- Baggage inspection at entrances to the TMG buildings and at the South Observation Deck in Main Building No. 1
Please note that baggage and personal item inspections will be conducted manually and using metal detectors. - Checks of trunk contents of vehicles entering the parking area
It may take more time than usual to enter the TMG buildings. We ask that visitors please arrive with time to spare.
