Symposium to commemorate the first anniversary of Kasai Marine Park as a Ramsar site
On Sunday, October 20, Governor Koike attended “A life-giving ocean, co-existing with people: The symposium to commemorate the first anniversary of Kasai Marine Park as a Ramsar site,” held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building. At the symposium, Governor Koike, Mayor Saito of Edogawa-ku, and Mayor Sato of Minamisanriku Town, Miyagi Prefecture gave greetings following a musical introduction of the wetlands by the theatrical troupe, Cinderella. Mayor Sato presented Governor Koike with a commemorative gift to thank her for the support Tokyo provided in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
