Governor Meets with Egyptian Minister of Higher Education
On Tuesday, October 9, Governor Koike met Mr. Khalid Atef Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The governor said, “Cairo and Tokyo are friendship cities and we have long been building good relations. In the field of education, as Egypt is incorporating a Japanese-style holistic educational system, there are many ways that Tokyo can provide cooperation.”
Minister Ghaffar expressed his gratitude regarding Japan’s support for education, such as the Egypt-Japan School support program, saying, “Japan has exceptional technical universities and technical education, which is why I hope we can receive cooperation in the field of technical education,” and, “I hope the level of Egyptian students will be raised for further development of the economy and education of our countries.”
