Joint Press Conference for the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 G-NETS Leaders Summit

On April 28, Governor Koike attended the joint press conference for the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 G-NETS Leaders Summit, held at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba.

The governor said, “The SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 G-NETS Leaders Summit, where two days of discussions were held, has just concluded. I would like to thank all of the participating cities once again. The main theme for this summit was ‘A new urban future built on climate and disaster resilience.’ Through the presentations and discussions by the cities, we have been able to share our knowledge and insights with each other and compile our shared understanding and policy directions for a sustainable world into a communiqué.

“The global landscape is rapidly changing, with growing uncertainty. That is precisely why it is vital for cities to advance discussions and actions to help one another, focusing on our people. We will work to ensure that the discussions that have taken place here are firmly translated into action. We will leverage the cutting-edge technologies of Tokyo-based startups and further advance demonstration projects to help enhance resilience and solve other challenges faced by the world’s cities. We will also further promote technical exchange opportunities for cities to learn from each other. Through such efforts, we will not only bring together the world’s cities to tackle shared challenges but also continue to develop this network with the aim of achieving further cooperation. I am confident that the determination expressed in this communiqué is shared by all of the city leaders who participated. Let’s continue our efforts to pave the way to a sustainable world.”
